Tour of Missouri Forecast
The Tour of Missouri is a cycling race beginning on September 11, 2007 in Kansas City and concluding on September 16, 2007 in Saint Louis. The CWS will be producing a weather forecast for each stage of the race.

The sixth and final stage of the Tour of Missouri will be in St. Louis and will begin at 1 PM. Temperatures will rise from the low 70s into the mid 70s during the race as clouds decrease. Winds will become more southerly throughout the afternoon as the warm front to the west approaches. Although skies will still be partly to mostly cloudy when the race starts, the air near the surface will be too dry for any rain to fall.

Skies will be mostly sunny for the fifth stage of the Tour of Missouri. Temperatures will quickly rebound off morning lows near 40 and should be in the mid 50s by the 11:30 AM start of the race in Jefferson City. The cold front that moved through early Friday morning be approaching the Gulf Coast by midday Saturday. The dome of high pressure behind the cold front will be centered over western Illinois tomorrow. Winds will be light but out of the east providing a headwind of 5 to 10 mph as the riders bike toward St. Charles. By the time the riders finish the stage, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s over eastern Missouri.

Expect mostly sunny skies for the fourth stage of the Tour of Missouri. Isolated showers are possible near the cold front that is dropping to the south through Missouri but most of the stage should be dry. Temperatures will be near 70 degrees throughout the stage. The stage begins in Lebanon and finishes up to the northeast in Columbia. The riders will face a headwind of 10 to 15 mph because of breezy winds out of the north to northwest behind the cold front.

Skies will be sunny for today's time trial in Branson. As the riders race through the hills of southwest Missouri, the weather will be quite pleasant. Temperatures at the start of the time trial will be near 70 degrees and will rise to almost 80 degrees before the time trial concludes around 2 PM. Winds will be southerly between 5 and 10 mph.

Skies will be sunny and temperatures will again be mild for the second stage of the Tour of Missouri. Today the Tour starts at 11 AM in Clinton and concludes 126 miles later in Springfield. When the stage begins in Clinton, temperatures will be around 70 degrees. By the time the riders reach Springfield in the middle of the afternoon, temperatures will be in the upper 70s. Winds will be out of the southeast at around 5 mph.

The first stage of the Tour of Missouri starts at 1 PM in the Kansas City area. Skies will be sunny with temperatures in the low 70s to start the race and rising into the mid 70s during the race. With lower humidity behind the cold front that moved through the area yesterday, weather during the race will be very pleasant. Winds will be out of the west to northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
