DCIN and DCAPE
This
experimental page hosts ~hourly test plots of the downdraft
convective available energy (DCAPE), downdraft convective
inhibition (DCIN), and the ratio of the two [ |
DCIN | / (DCAPE)].
What currently drives these plots are initial fields from the 13-km gridding of the latest hour's RAP output. The parcel being lowered is the coldest wet bulb in the lowest 6-km.

These are the latest created plots of DCAPE (dashed, red; J kg-1), DCIN (solid, white; J kg-1), and the ratio of the two, if present (dotted, purple).
Contours for DCAPE at 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1200 J kg-1. Same for DCIN, but negative and also at -5, -50, -100, -200 J kg-1. The | DCIN | / DCAPE ratio is only contoured at 1.
