Thursday will continue to see above seasonal temperatures before the area is met with a cold front on Friday morning. The cold front will bring chances for rain and even some scattered thunderstorms throughout the day on Friday. Temperatures will head back to seasonal throughout the remainder of the forecast period.

-Cold front Friday morning will bring rain chances and seasonal temperatures
Earlier storms have since diminished and current visible satellite and radar imagery depict mostly clear skies throughout the region.
A mid-to-upper level trough currently sits in place over the northern portion of the CONUS. An upper level jet streak can be recognized on the eastern portion of the trough, which will signify that the trough will begin to de-amplify as it continues. As the aforementioned trough continues to trek towards the Great Lakes Region, an associated Mid Latitude Cyclone will drape a cold front over the CWA mid-morning on Friday. With the passage of the front, the area likely see rain showers as well as the possibility for thunderstorms. Modeled soundings indicate MLCAPE values in exceedance of 2,000 J/Kg with little to no cap in place. SREF Plumes suggest rain totals ranging from 0.25″ to upwards of 0.5″. The cold front will also influence winds to shift from a southerly component to a northerly aspect. Friday high temperatures will remain near seasonal with the cloud cover and northerly winds. A high-pressure will build in directly behind the front and will help dry out the atmosphere and decrease cloud cover.
